Maruti has codenamed its new model as Swift 3.99 which implies its length which is less then 4 meter.Maruti has taken this step to keep the Dzire apart from SX4.From the launch of SX4 and Dzire consumer were preferring the SX4 over the Dzire,even these two models looks almost similar,hence to differentiate th SX4 from Dzire Maruti has taken this step.
This is not the first time when any company has shorten the length of their sedan class model,recently we saw the Tata Indigo cs the shorten model of Tata Indigo.Mahindra and Mahindra is also planning to shorten the length of its verito model.
